While for the most part, the site has general Medieval levels of technology. However, there is electricity and running water in the largest, wealthiest cities. Poorer countries have unreliable electricity at the best of times and usually rely on getting water the old-fashioned ways. The wealthiest countries do have an airship or two and black powder firearms are permitted, even though they are far from common and tend to be very costly.

Relics from the technologically-advanced past can be found every now and again; however, the current people do not understand what these things are. For example: the long-abandoned, rusted railroad tracks that run through part of the Rat Kingdom's wasteland is just assumed to be a very strange road that was probably meant for carriages and wagons. Someone might think an old, broken camera is just an extremely odd, small box. There is no one alive who knows what the relics from the past are, who made them, or why.

Ogatia does allow certain cosmetic modifications. Tattoos, piercings, brands, scarification and hair dye are all allowed; though the latter is usually something that only the wealthy can afford.

Yes, "unusually" dyed hair is perfectly permissable, as indigo can be used to produce varying shades of blue and purple, beets can create shades of pink or red and it isn't difficult to use other plants for yellow, orange or green dyes. However, these "strange" colors are generally not as cheap as colors that are easier to produce.

Coffee is widely available throughout Ogatia; however, sugar is available only for the rich. while honey is available to everyone else.
