What Is Ogatia?

Ogatia is a character-driven, largely open-world dark fantasy RP forum. It is set in a "living world," which means some elements of the world will end up changing, depending on what happens during the course of the RP. We will occasionally have site-wide events and plots as well, however, it will never be mandatory for anyone to participate in those, if they don't think their characters would want to.

We pride ourselves on being a "bare bones" RP forum, where the written word is what matters. As such, we do not use or have:

Face claims or "play-bys"
Postscripts or "posting tables"
Shop or point systems of any sort
OOC contests or competitions
Graphics shops
Automated anything

So, why should you join?

Everyone is welcome here, including people who have just started to RP.
While one-line RP posts are not allowed, there is no word count to adhere to.
Ogatia was designed in such a way that the players influence how the world changes.
When positions of IC (In-character) power are open, they aren't just available to a select few.
There are no complicated systems to memorize.
All writing styles are allowed here.
Ogatia's players' thoughts are actually valued.
We don't have any needless bells and whistles, but we do have substance.
